Na święta było mi się w domu, i jako prezent niekoniecznie Gwiazdkowy, sprezentowałam sobie "Łaumę", na którą było mnie w końcu stać.
Słyszałam o niej po raz pierwszy na BFK, kiedy to KRL przedstawiał na warsztatach swój kawałek story-board'u do tego komiksu i tłumaczył, jak generalnie powstaje komiks. Naturalnie, natychmiast mnie to zainteresowało.
Tematyka jest świetna, moim zdaniem, bo trochę nietypowa. Sięgamy do polskich, regionalnych legend. Dobre posunięcie, aczkolwiek wciskanie paru na raz, i to głównie je tłumacząc niewiele wnosi. Mam na myśli historię Pana Jezior. Nic to nie wnosi do ogólnej historii Łaumy, scena jest właściwie bez sensu. Moglibyśmy swobodnie kontynuować lekturę i bez tego. Daję więc za to jeden wielki minus...
Kolejny problem, to narracja. Słowa, zdania, jakie wypowiada Dorotka w ogóle nie mają nic do rzeczy z jej wiekiem. Raz wygląda to, jakby miała 8 lat, stronę dalej, jakby miała 18 conajmniej. Niestety, przeszkadza to wyjątkowo, bo nie jesteśmy w stanie "wejść w buty" bohaterki. Kolejna rzecz, to to, że KRL słowa pokazuje. Mam przez to na myśli, że zdanie, które jest napisane, widzimy na obrazku. Nie ma to sensu, to nudzi. Ciekawiej by było, gdyby, np. w przypadku księdza, Dorotka mówiła, że ksiądz jednak ku prośbom Taty pozwolił na pochówek babci na cmentarzu, a widzimy obrazek z ojcem, który mu płaci. Byłoby to ciekawsze. Ponieważ inaczej, ten tekst może równie dobrze działać totalnie bez żadnego obrazka, a przecież nie o to chodzi w komiksie. Takich sytuacji jest wiele, ale nie chcę was zanudzać.
Generalnie, nie jestem też pewna, do jakiej publiczności ten komiks się zwraca. Bo poprzez storyboard wygląda, jakby to było do młodszego pokolenia, poprzez treść, to częściowo do starszego... gubię się.
Za to, rysunkowo, to wymiata. Warsztat jest potężny, i KRL'owi udaje się wyłącznie poprzez odpowiednie nałożenie kresek zrobić ogromny wachlarz szarości, różnorodność materiałów, oraz tworzy niepowtarzalny klimat.
Nie żałuję jednak zakupu, ale wyłącznie ze względu na rysunek. Treść pozostawia wiele do życzenia...

(PL!) O Kartonie mowa
Na ledwo parę dni, ale zawitałam na Wszystkich Świętych w naszej kolorowej ojczyźnie. I jak sobie poprzysięgłam, że nawet nie będę przechodzić obok Komikslandii w centrum Warszawy (z braku kasy), tak oczywiście tę przysięgę złamałam. Tak więc poza zakupieniem się w ukochanego Jason'a, dorwałam się też w końcu do Karton'u, o którym słyszałam na BFK, oraz z portali takich, jak Motyw Drogi, chociażby. Jak wyszedł pierwszy numer, według mnie? W całości, raczej słabo.
Wszystkie komiksy, o których słyszałam, fajnie się zapowiadały. Ale to jak z filmem: trailer jest w deseczkę, a film może być do dupy (jak, nota bene, Surogaci...). Nie uważam, że całość jest totalnie do kitu, ale z tych paru komiksów, niewiele mi się całościowo podobało. Graficznie niczego się nie czepiam, każdy ma swój styl (które są swietne), ale narracja...
Dwa stripy komiksowe KRL'a, na samym początku Karton'u, mi się szalenie spodobały. Zapowiadały bardzo dobrze całą resztę.
Pierwsza historia Grand Band'y (Marek Lachowicz i Tomasz Kuczma) zapowiada się świetnie. Historia mnie powaliła, była tak chora, że nic, tylko płakać. Babcie myślą wyjątkowo "logicznie". Wprawdzie w odcieniach szarości brakuje czasami większego kontrastu, a postacie mieszają się z tłem. Uważam, że tych odcieni jest za dużo. Powinno się ustalić ze cztery, wtedy się nie gubimy za bardzo, a kontrast powinien wyjść odpowiedni.
"Ćmy" Tomasza Pastuszki... to właśnie był komiks, który na BFK zapowiadał się zarąbiście. A wynik jest... słaby. Jak na początek serii komiksowej, kiepsko. Raczej nie zapowiada niczego ciekawego, wstrząsajacego, nie do końca wiadomo, o co chodzi. Że niby komiks o sąsiedzie superbohatera? Tego się w ogóle nie czuje. Tomku, stać Cię na coś dużo lepszego! Ja wiem, że być może to tylko początek, potem się rozkręca, ale komiks jest ważny od pierwszych strip'ów! Ani to śmieszne nie było, ani nic... w strefach szarości. Jakoś nie wbił mi się do głowy.
Następny jest "Flatties" Ewy Jaszczuk i Tomka Pastuszki. Cóż... styl graficzny, nie ukrywam, szalenie mi się podoba. Czasami latające głowy mnie przerażają, bo nie do końca pasują, ale to jest moje zdanie. Być może w tej, jak i w wielu innych kwestiach się ze mną nie zgodzicie. Ale nadal kończy się czytać ten komiks z pewnego rodzaju niedosmakiem. Niby jest wspomniane, że zwalczają zło, ale potem, jak walczą z Tobiaszem, wydaje się to być zwykłym "przenośnym" obrazkiem, a nie prawdziwą swego rodzaju bitwą. Chyba, że to tak miało być... to wtedy nadal nie wiadomo, czy o to autorowi chodziło. O tym, że pracowały w cyrku, to pamiętałam wyłącznie z BFK, bo samo zdanie o "zamieszaniu wokół zamknięcia cyrku" nie starcza, ten, kto nie był wcześniej wtajemniczony, gubi się, nie rozumie, po co to w ogóle było wstawione (tudzież moi znajomi to idioci :P).
"Byle do piątku trzynastego" Bartosza Sztybora i Piotra Nowackiego, pod względem różnorodności postaci, wyszedł absolutnie cudownie. Brakuje mi tam kontrastów, to z pewnością. I dalszego ciągu! Komiks się nagle urywa, i czytam następną stronę, myśląc, że to kontynuacja. A tu nagle był inny komiks. Wiem, niby zmiana stylu była, i czcionki, ale w komiksach stosuje się i takie techniki. Więc nagle zaczęłam się gubić. I dopiero przewracając stronę zorientowałam się, że w sumie zaczęłam już inny strip. Moim więc zdaniem, jak na pierwszy komiks Bartosza i Piotrka, to urwane w kiepskim dosyć miejscu. Nawet, gdyby było napisane "c.d.n." zaraz pod ostatnim okienkiem. Panowie... nie ładnie...
"Cosmocosmosis...NOT!" Bartosza Szymkiewicza i Macieja Łazowskiego fajnie się zapowiada. Ale niewiele więcej mogę powiedzieć, poza tym, co mówiłam już u Grand Bandy: szarości się tutaj zlewają! Szczególnie zwracam uwagę na ostatni kadr, gdzie facet od reklamy zwyczajnie pięknie się w tło wtapia, i tak samo robot po prawej.
Marcin Surma i "168"... Dopiero za którymś razem zorientowałam się, że są dwie Zośki. Musiałam się niesamowicie przyjrzeć jednemu kadrowi, gdzie widzimy jedną uciekającą, a drugą przychodzącą. No i dwie pary tych samych okularów. Tę drugą rzecz natychmiast zauważyłam, ale tę pierwszą... na początku miałam zwyczajnie potężny problem z umiejscowieniem Zośki w planach. Nie jest więc jasne z początku, co się w ogóle dzieje. Jest też momentami problem z umiejscowieniem chmurek, nie wiadomo, która pojawia się najpierw, a która później. Ale ogólnie, zapowiada się komiks ciekawie...
Następny był to komiks wybrany, Juan Manuel Ramirez de Arellano (nie mógł mieć krótszego imienia?!). I również był raczej kiepski. Szczególnie, jeżeli idzie o puentę komiksu. Kiepsko dobrane. Można było coś dużo fajniejszego znaleźć.
Plus, ostatni komiks, w którym nie wiadomo, o co chodzi? Że to niby reklama? Bo to czuć na kilometr, nawet nie patrząc, czy jest adres www obok. Kończąc ten tomik Karton'u, miałam raczej zmarszczone brwi i wielki znak zapytania nad głową. O co w tym wszystkim chodzi?

Stieg Larsson "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"
I read that book pretty fast, even, when I had a lot to do. This is... amazing! I heard about that last year, from my "Theory of media" teacher. I wrote down a title, but couldn't find it. And when I finally did (in french, or english) that was far too expensive. Finally, I came back to Poland for Christmas and then... miricale: that was just printed in polish version. And though there is many mistakes in translation (gramma, stylist, sometimes translator changes sex....) it's still great. Just, grab this book. Well developped story and characters, espacially of Lisbeth Salander. Take it. That's an order!!!
I can't wait untill april to have second volume in polish (well, I understand far better this language, and more important: is at least twice cheaper than in other language :P)
Unfortunately, author couldn't see his succes. He died in 2004, when his book was released in 2005 :/
Ps. I hope they'll NOT make a movie. They'll screw this up, for sure. There's just too much too show within 2, maybe 3 hours....

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Finally in Brussels, since last wednesday. And I wen't today afternoon to see it. Why? Because I love world of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, I read those 7 small books, and my favorite is "Prince Caspian", and the last one "The last battle". So, I couldn't missed those.I must say, that this episode is much better, than the last one. In first I was pretty angry when I saw especially a moment, when Susan and Lucy were riding Aslan. That was so false, you could see almost bluescreen there. But here... They used the smallest possibility of bluescreen, I think, most of shots where made in nature, or finally they looked like made in nature. Thank you!
Actors played better, than in first "Narnia", but... they're now so big, and older... too much for "one year" difference between last and this episode. But how we can stop growing up kids-actors? That I can forgive :)
Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian), I already liked him in Stardust. So, I was little bit surprised, when I saw him on bilboards as this character in Narnia. I told myself, that then I really need to go and see it even more. And I don't regret. I just loved, how he interpret Caspian. And actor... just to eat him alive ;)
Sergio Castellitto (King Miraz) was fantastic. He could persuade even me to some point of view, when he show some... brilliant.
And those make-ups (appart of Susan, who was made as great beauty... with all do respect, that wasn't how I imagined her. In first Narnia she was good), and everything. Costumes were really nice (but after Curse of the Golden Flower, they're much worse ;).
BUT I'll never go to UGC again! Sound was horrible, sometimes loud, sometimes very silence, colours changes, when they changed tape orwhateveritisinenglish. That made me really mad. Now I can understand my friend from my class, Vincent, why he stopped going to cinema in Brussels: you pay a hell a lot of money (6,50 euro for student! yuyks!) for something of law quality...
Anyway, still I liked that film, it was much better than first one, but I'm one of Narnia-maniac, so it's up to you to go and see it ;) I can forgive a lot of things unconsciously ;) I'll buy it in either way on DVD, but I'll wait untill next year for third Narnia, so there'll be trilogy selling :P

Curse of the Golden Flower
Yesterday, before my work, I watched "Curse of the Golden Flower". And I didn't waste my time and money. The decorations are just superbe, there's a great ambiance, actors played so good... I can understand, why it had so many rewards. Thing is only one, that when there were some fights, that was already too magical. That wasn't too real. Pitty.
But still I liked that film very much. Story, scenography, representation... It's good to see it!

Iron
Monday I had results of my exams. I proudly passed to second year. I'm too happy to describe it. It's just... relief. I've got holidays. Partly, I still work in chocolaterie untill 17 of august, but I don't need to learn to second session.Monday I wen't with Alex to see "Iron Man". I heard a lot before that, and I must admit others oppinion: that was great. I'll save even those 20 euros just to have it directly in my DVD collection. First: because I like actors who're playing there, second: because I like Iron Man, third: because that's great adaptation!
No drawing today, I did some sketches, but they're totally crap. I've got artblock. Again.
Ok, I'll go see some stupid movie. I can't sleep, maybe that'll give me something...

Now, I’d like to write something about works, deviants. In that way I’m not good, I know, so that article will concern me also.
First thing: when you’re giving a deviant, you must concern in your calculation is, that everybody can do a criticism of that.
Second thing: your work don’t need be popular to be good. On DA pageviews does not saying a thing! That’s just an information. You can be a great artist, but not so popular.
Because, how you can have a lot of pageviews even, when you’re a horrible artist? Simple: give maaaany watch, faves and comments, have a trush in your gallery, redraw some things, some manga’s, and have them as FanArt. I saw, that the most faves has got the FanArts of some manga. Even, when that artist don’t know, how to draw, he’s content, because he’s got a lot of pg, because of his one frikin’ work. So, pg means nothing!
Third thing: I saw that on some comments: draw your pictures like they're the last picture that you'll ever draw. Do the best photo possible, do everything best you can do, like that's the last thing you'll ever do!
Remember then: pg means nothing to you, you can be a great artist without being popular! But, if somebody will see your works, maybe that’ll be somebody who knows, how to give a Daily Deviant suggestion, and like that you’ll be popular for one day probably… or for more and more

So, for now the last article, for which I’ve got some idea. Here we go, mates!
So, what make people the artists? That they’re dressing in original way? That they’re doing some totally crazy things? That guys who’s working on the desk call them “crazy one”? I don’t think so. I think, that everybody is some kind of artist in any way. So, why you want to be so original? Why do you dress like some kind of “artist” person. Clothes that’s don’t match one to each other, jeans with holes, minis, and under that some other pants… Big, metallic shoes, very strong make-up. And for what? Just to be seeing on the street? Believe me, you don’t need any stuff like that to be seeing! Be yourself! Don’t try to be cool, or things like that, because that’ll bring you NOTHING!
I’ve got in my school some guys, who’re looking at me like to a weird person. Why? Because I’m in artist school, and I wear normal clothes. And why I’m not wearing stuff like them? Because I don’t need to show anyone, how original I am, or that I am some kind of artist. I know that, and that’s fair enough for me.
Also, somebody, who’s not feeling good in clothes that he has, that everybody can see. He just don’t fit in, he’s looking weird for us. But somebody, who’s wearing things not normal for us, but he’s feeling good in it, he’s just looking good. Weird, huh? But very true.
Some, dear artists. Please, don’t exaggerate with your look. Because that’s not the most important in art. In art the works are important, and you, by yourself. Not your clothes…

Well, now I’ll start some kind of series of articles. My opinions about some thing.
So, now we can start.
First of all, I’d like to say few things about comments. I must admit, I’m not perfect in it, sometimes I just don’t have any idea, what to say, and others are saying that “I hate people, who’re watching, or faving my works, without saying a word!”. Well, listen guys, in my opinion, not every work need a comment. Why? Because there’re good, and bad artists, and if you’ll do a critic of bad artist, then’ll be a classic motive of “I’m abandoning DA!!! Nobody appreciate my works, and I’m trying so hard!!!”. Or, just works are so good, that you just don’t need to say a damn thing! Like works of William Turner, that I’d never comment, because I just love them, and they don’t need a word… silence say everything…
Another thing: when you’re commenting the others, I’ll take the example on me, when you’re commenting me, you’re writing “cute”, “fine”, or “I like that, but something is wrong. But, hell, what I can say, I can’t draw at all, so I can’t say anything”. That last thing worrying my the most. Geez, you’re a receiver of a work! You must like it, an artist, and YOU! If an artist want to draw to himself, he shouldn’t show any of his works, cause that’s only for him. Fine, but if there’s anybody, who’s showing his works, you’ve got full right to do review!!! And you don’t need to do good drawings. Absolutely not! You see the nature, like the others, you can say whatever you see is bad on that picture. If that “bad” thing is a fragment of style of artist, you’ll see that on his other works, or that artist will explain it to you. No worries! Only like that an artist can learn something for next time! So, any word “cute”, “good” or whatever, won’t help anybody. I know, I did same thing. But last time I tried to change it. And same thing I’m expecting from all of you… I just can’t see my mistakes. Help me with it!

Like works of William Turner, that I’d never comment, because I just love them, and they don’t need a word… silence say everything…
Another thing: when you’re commenting the others, I’ll take the example on me, when you’re commenting me, you’re writing “cute”, “fine”, or “I like that, but something is wrong. But, hell, what I can say, I can’t draw at all, so I can’t say anything”. That last thing worrying my the most. Geez, you’re a receiver of a work! You must like it, an artist, and YOU! If an artist want to draw to himself, he shouldn’t show any of his works, cause that’s only for him. Fine, but if there’s anybody, who’s showing his works, you’ve got full right to do review!!! And you don’t need to do good drawings. Absolutely not! You see the nature, like the others, you can say whatever you see is bad on that picture. If that “bad” thing is a fragment of style of artist, you’ll see that on his other works, or that artist will explain it to you. No worries! Only like that an artist can learn something for next time! So, any word “cute”, “good” or whatever, won’t help anybody. I know, I did same thing. But last time I tried to change it. And same thing I’m expecting from all of you… I just can’t see my mistakes. Help me with it!
